_Do NOT Buy From this seller!_ If you purchase the individual packages they range in price from $7 – $18ish but I was expecting what’s in the picture – individual packages. Look at my attached picture. They basically put several orders is Ziplock bags. Look closely outside label. Under “Qty” it is hand written “100” and “50”. This was NOT ordered single individually packaged items. This represents 150 count. It arrived in plastic bags hand written amounts in a black marker. How do I know if they are and sterilized medical supply? Since they are loose inside direct contact in the Ziploc, they can’t be used now as intended . Also they feel very stiff and thin and completely flat, definitely low quality materials compared to brand brands. These are basically useless to me now. Waste of money, stay away. To be clear on return, I first ordered a smaller box from medical supplies. Then tried to find larger qty with dispenser box. These DO NOT feature dispenser box, individually packed. Look cheap as ever actually dangerous potentially . Deserves negative one stars.
I was given one of these sponges in the hospital for use when I showered inside to cover my arm after vascular access surgery (access for dialysis). They work extremely well once you understand how the sleeve expands; the design is essentially the same as a finger trap. If you stretch the plastic to put it over the dressing then try to pull it into place, doing so tightens the sleeve with every ounce of pressure; therefore it will get smaller in diameter, and, eventually, it will compress too tightly. To make it longer and to covers wet zone without applying pressure to your arm under tight constraint, you MUST NOT pull the leading end over but rather GENTLY WORK the ruffles of plastic bulk behind up and over your arm. Do NOT PULL active end with force up your arm; as is normal with a cylindrical design, doing so results in a tight constriction and in the process realigns the internal structural fibers causing “shrinkage”. If, in fact, you do accidently over-stretch the sleeve resulting in constriction, just reverse direction slightly, slide the wide back portion downwards slightly (toward the direction of the hand) and then gently stretch UP (toward the bicep) but only with enough finger-guide so that it moves up over the dressing, not past it. Yes: it will feel moist Inside due to sweat, but do not mistake transpiraton for a failure of the water tight seal at both ends. Highly recommended product!
