Authorities in northern New Jersey are currently investigating a series of mysterious drone sightings that have been reported in the region, notably near Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, which is significant as it is the residence of President-elect Donald Trump. In recent days, multiple videos have emerged showing drones flying over various areas in Somerset and Morris counties, with notable sightings on December 1 and December 3. One resident, Mike Walsh from Morris County, captured footage on November 25 that shows three drones flying over Black River Middle School in Chester, further fueling public interest and concern regarding these aerial activities.

The proximity of the drone sightings to Trump’s golf club has raised eyebrows, especially given the heightened security implications this may entail. The Morris County border, which is located just two miles north of the golf course, has been a focal point for these incidents, with sightings reported in nearby towns such as Bernardsville, Mendham, and Parsippany. The growing frequency of these drone activities has prompted local and federal agencies to take notice and investigate the matter further.

Adding to the intrigue, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that an unusual drone was observed flying over northern and central New Jersey on November 18. In response to this and the subsequent drone sightings, the FAA issued two temporary flight restrictions to prohibit drone flights in specific areas. One of these restrictions applies to the airspace above Trump National Golf Club, demonstrating the federal agency’s urgency in addressing potential security threats. These restrictions are set to remain in place until the end of the current week, suggesting the authorities are taking the situation very seriously.

The FAA indicated that their priority is to integrate drone operations safely into the National Airspace System while ensuring that all reports of unauthorized drone activities are taken seriously and investigated appropriately. The establishment of flight restrictions around sensitive areas, such as military installations and notable properties like Trump’s golf club, underscores the level of concern regarding unmonitored drone activity in these regions.

In conjunction with the FAA, multiple law enforcement agencies are involved in the ongoing investigation. The Morris County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed they are looking into the reported drone incidents while collaborating with organizations such as the FBI Newark field office, the New Jersey State Police, and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office. This collaborative effort emphasizes the seriousness of the investigation and the need for a thorough examination of the circumstances surrounding these drone activities.

As authorities continue their inquiries into the mysterious drone sightings, public interest remains high, driven by both curiosity and concerns relating to security and safety. The outcomes of these investigations may pave the way for more stringent regulations governing the operation of drones, particularly in sensitive areas. The evolving situation serves as a reminder of the challenges posed by the increasing prevalence of drone technology and its implications for airspace management and public safety.
