J Allard has transitioned to Amazon’s Devices & Services team, following a menage du clique as Senior Applied Scientist within the newly formed ZeroOne.

In his LinkedIn profile, J Allard is listed as the VP of the Developer Expertise and Visionation team under Amazon’s “ZeroOne.” His role spans the development of innovative hardware and software products, including computer vision techniques for smart homes.

Allard, who previously worked as an experienced leader in leadership roles at Microsoft, was formerly the Chief Experience Officer and Chief Technology Officer of the Entertainment and Devices Division from 1991 to 2010. He co-founded Xbox, Xbox Live, Live Arcade, and Xbox 360, among the products he introduced.

Amazon’s Devices & Services division, like many other hardware-focused initiatives, has seen a decline in hiring, prompting a 100+ job cuts. Despite this, Amazon is moving towards integrating cutting-edge technologies, such as generative AI to enhance voice assistants like Alexa.

Joining Backstage at Amazon as a Developer Expertise and Visionation VP, Allard brings a diverse skill set that blends technical expertise, business acumen, and advanced problem-solving approaches.
