HHS Official Assaulted at UN: A Troubling Security Breach During UNGA

In a disturbing incident that raises serious questions about security at the United Nations, an official from the Department of Health and Human Services was physically assaulted during the UN General Assembly in New York City. The attack occurred while the official was serving in a support role for HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the department’s leadership team. According to White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly, the official “was followed into a bathroom, recorded, physically assaulted and verbally accosted by a deranged leftist at the UN who somehow entered the venue past multiple layers of security.” The incident has prompted calls for a thorough investigation and review of security protocols at what should be one of the world’s most secure diplomatic venues.

The victim recounted her harrowing experience in an exclusive interview, describing how she was walking down a hallway at the UN when a woman began berating her and shining a bright light in her face. “It was very disorienting,” she explained. “Once I took a step back and regained my footing, it didn’t stop. I realized what was happening. I realized I was being yelled at and that the light was also a recording device.” Attempting to escape the harassment, the official entered a women’s bathroom, but her assailant followed, continuing to scream insults like “fascist” and “Nazi” while making pro-Palestinian comments. Even when the HHS official sought refuge in a bathroom stall, the attacker pushed at the door and eventually held a camera over the top to continue filming. After approximately ten minutes of this intimidation, the official finally managed to get away from her assailant, who was later arrested by the New York City Police Department.

The White House has expressed serious concern about the security failure that allowed this attack to happen. “Thankfully, the official is safe, and the lunatic was arrested, but this is part of a disturbing and dangerous set of failures by the UN after their sabotage of President Trump ahead of and during his speech,” Kelly stated. She added that the US Secret Service would investigate “how this violent protester was admitted into a major national security event.” A source familiar with the case told Fox News Digital that the individual has been charged with assault, aggravated harassment, attempted assault, and criminal possession of a weapon. Despite these serious charges, the attacker was reportedly released from custody the following evening and is scheduled to appear in court on November 13th, raising further questions about the handling of the case.

The US mission to the UN expressed outrage over the incident, with a spokesperson declaring, “We are outraged that a member of the US delegation was physically assaulted inside of UN Headquarters.” The spokesperson went on to deliver a scathing critique of the international organization, stating, “The UN itself recognizes that it has lost its way. Now, it has devolved into an arena where an American delegation member is harassed and assaulted. If you can’t keep people safe in your own building, how can you claim to be the world’s diplomatic center?” These strong words reflect the Trump administration’s frustration with what they perceive as mounting security failures and political bias at the international body, with the spokesperson adding that “the UN needs dramatic reform and now must also immediately implement a thorough review of the UN’s security operations.”

For her part, the targeted official described the attack as feeling “very political in nature,” suggesting it represents a troubling pattern of intimidation directed at the Trump administration. “Secretary Kennedy gets a tremendous number of bows and arrows and threats that he deals with, but it seems that it’s not enough, and it is trickling down,” she observed. This incident comes amid heightened political tensions in the United States as the presidential election approaches, with concerns about politically motivated violence growing on all sides. The fact that such an attack could occur within the supposedly secure confines of the United Nations headquarters during a major international gathering has only amplified these worries.

Despite the traumatic experience, the HHS official expressed resilience and determination. “That’s a scary thing for the team. But we’re more empowered, and we have amazing leadership,” she said. The incident has nonetheless prompted calls for accountability from the United Nations, with the White House demanding answers about “why these highly concerning incidents continue to happen against the president and his staff.” The US mission to the UN was even more direct, concluding their statement with the pointed declaration: “Enough is enough.” As investigations continue into how this security breach occurred, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the challenges facing international institutions in maintaining both security and neutrality in an increasingly polarized global political environment.
