He later texted her again at approximately 10 p.m., expressing his intention to go to a restaurant at the resort but later declining to confirm. McAlmont indicated that at around 11:30 a.m., his son did not respond to her text, leading the police to investigate possible acts outside. The police summoned her to the front desk, discovering her son had spit on workers at a nearby restaurant, and identified him as potentially using a weapon, possibly a gun.
