A resident of an apartment complex has taken to Reddit to share their side of a dispute between themselves and their neighbor.
The resident said they’d moved in a week ago, with no real issues.
But, everything changed when they spotted sticky notes on their car.
“I came out and found these notes”
“I moved into the complex a week ago, and have been parking in my assigned place,” the poster shared.
“One day I came out and found these notes plastered across my windshield and window.”
The notes weren’t at all civil, shown in a photo after being taken inside.
The person who’d left the notes was accusing the poster of parking in their designated spot in the car park.
“RESPECT YOUR NEIGHBOUR and stop parking in their paid, assigned spot. It’s just rude!” one read.
“I’ve tried to be kind but you ignored my note. You could’ve been towed [over] a week ago. PLEASE let me park in the spot I’ve had for years! Thanks!” said another, despite the poster saying they’d never seen a post-it there before.
“I PAY FOR THIS SPOT and would like to use it. Please and thank you,” said a third.
“NOT YOUR SPOT. PLEASE STOP taking it! THANK YOU,” the last one read.
“That’s so embarrassing for them”
Commenters on the post thought the person who’d left the notes was completely out of line, saying their aggression made no sense at all.
“‘Respect Your Neighbors’ proceeds to leave you passive aggressive notes,” one person said.
“That’s so embarrassing for them. They should leave an apology note or come up and apologise in person,” said another.
Others even suggested the notes may have been misplaced.
“Given that one of the notes refers to previous notes that have been ignored, I’m betting that they sent their kid(s) out to land this series of notes and the kid(s) left them on the wrong car by mistake,” one commenter suggested.
“I’m wondering if someone took these off their own car and stuck them on someone else’s,” another said.
“No new notes have appeared”
Worried, the poster said they immediately went to ask for confirmation.
“I immediately worried that I’d been parking in the wrong spot, so I went to the office and they confirmed that yes, that is my spot,” they said.
Thankfully, it seems the poster got the resolution they were after.
“I took their notes off and placed a note on my own windshield saying something to the effect of ‘I checked with the office and this is my spot. You should check with them too’,” they confirmed.
“Several hours later I checked and the note I left was gone, and no new notes have appeared.”
