More than 5,000 users were experiencing issues with Twitter on Thursday, and several reports detailed the extent of the problem. The maintenance, attributed to a data center outage, facilitate a brief report from Twitter’s developer platform, saying it was experiencing a degraded performance.

The incidents began around 2:30 p.m. EDT, when approximately 2,300 users reported access issues. By 3 p.m., the number of problems dropped to 2,000, but by 3:30 p.m., it surges to nearly 5,800 users. The severity highlighted in the radar became more intense toward 4:20 p.m. EDT, with only 630 issues reported.

Of the total user count, 55% reported issues with the website, 36% with the app, and 9% faced **server connection problems. Twitter has taken proactive steps to address the issue, as some users observed degraded responsiveness from social media features. However, the majority of the problems were due to difficulties accessing the app or interruption at the platform’s interface.

Circle of thinking on Twitter’s Reddit has shown growing adoption and helping in diagnosing and resolving the issues. Members expressed appreciative feedback for Twitter’s failure in meeting demand and effectively enhancing user experience. The community is actively working to mitigate the outages, with various services and measures in place to address the problem.

The incident — first reported in March with approximately 41,000 users affected, and a second in March 2023 involving slightly over 56,000 users — underscored Twitter’s reliance on a robust infrastructure and the constant need for efficiency. The event, which claimed data centers were overwhelmed, prompted Twitter to take measures aimed at migrating users to third-party services, enhancing scalability and recovery capabilities.
