Reality television has a unique way of turning private business dealings into highly publicized dramas, and the latest season of Bravo’s The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys is no exception. At the center of the recent storm is Allie Eklund, who is finally breaking her silence to share her side of a complicated business and personal conflict. During the filming of the show’s third season, her now-ex-boyfriend, Steven McBee Jr., tried to secure her a financial stake in a skincare business owned by Kacie Adkison—who is engaged to Steven’s brother, Cole. For viewers, it looked like a high-stakes power struggle, but Allie reveals that what actually went down behind the scenes, away from the flashing cameras, was a story of miscommunication, crossed boundaries, and her own commitment to professional integrity.
The drama began when Steven approached Allie about getting involved in Kacie’s rising beef-tallow skincare brand, which operates under the broader McBee Farms umbrella. Allie, an experienced entrepreneur who helps run her family’s Triple E farm and their successful Triple E Mercantile brand, was immediately honest about her limitations. Knowing she was already juggling her family’s ranch operations alongside her own personal businesses, she told Steven and Kacie in the fall of 2025 that she simply did not have the bandwidth for a new venture. Wanting to be supportive, Allie offered to help with marketing entirely for free, whenever her schedule allowed. However, Steven had different, more aggressive plans, and began negotiating a 20 percent stake in the company for Allie without her knowledge or consent.
This behind-the-scenes maneuvering quickly boiled over on-screen, creating immense tension between Steven and Kacie. On camera, Kacie expressed her frustration, noting she had already invested $12,000 of her own money and was working five days a week without taking a salary. Steven, who took over as CEO of McBee Farm & Cattle Co. after his father’s legal troubles, argued that the business was growing too fast for Kacie to handle alone. He proposed restructuring the company so that Kacie would keep only 40 percent of the profits, while McBee Farms took 40 percent, and Allie received 20 percent. Allie recalls being completely blindsided when she found out Steven was pitching this profit-sharing model behind closed doors. She clarifies that she never asked for a piece of Kacie’s company and ultimately turned down the equity offer because she refused to take a cut of a business she didn’t have the time to fully commit to.
The situation became even more delicate because Allie and Steven’s relationship was already on thin ice. The couple, who dated for less than a year, officially split in April amid highly publicized cheating allegations. Steven had accused Allie of stepping out on him at the Stagecoach Music Festival, a claim she vehemently denied. Kacie had understandably expressed worry about what would happen to the business’s equity if Allie and Steven were to break up—a concern Allie validated. To put Kacie’s mind at ease, Allie suggested that any contingency plans regarding a breakup should be formally written into a legal operating agreement. Before their abrupt split, the two women had even brainstormed collaborating on a special product collection to test the market, but those plans were permanently shelved when the relationship ended.
Reflecting on the entire experience, Allie realizes that her approach to business simply did not align with how the McBee family operates. She decided it was best to step away completely, leaving Kacie to run the tallow company on her own. Today, Allie is channeling all of her energy into her family’s Texas Hill Country venture, Triple E Mercantile. Far from the reality TV cameras, she is focusing on creating authentic, ranch-made goods and designing “Triple E experiences” that invite the public onto their family land. For Allie, this passion project is all about helping people slow down, build community, and reconnect with their roots—a grounded lifestyle that stands in stark contrast to the chaotic ranch politics of The McBee Dynasty.
